PCH- Carbon Beach Terrace, Malibu, CA.

Situated across Pacific Coast Highway and just above the world renowned Billionaires Beach in Malibu, the Carbon Beach Terrace development comprises 4 new homes on approximately 100 acres.  Each of the 4 lots is approximately 20 acres at a minimum.  They all have extraordinary, expansive views of the coastline.

We were engaged to design the ‘modern’ home of the group.

This home engages the landscape and provides for expansive indoor-outdoor living.  The swimming pool is the focus of most of the extreme homes in Los Angeles.  Given the slope of the site, we determined that placing a pool at the level of the Living Room was the most functional  and the most dramatic organization for the home.

The 10,000 sf home is distributed on 3 levels, with the garage at the upper level, the Entry, Living Room, Kitchen , Dining and Family areas on the main level with the Pool, an entertainment area below the garage and the Master Suite, and 4 additional bedrooms below the living area and the pool.

The design features a stepping series of flat roofs that use a sweeping curve to engage the site and its views.  The roof of the home is a fully landscaped green roof.
