ORANGE GROVE SMALL LOT, LOS ANGELES, CA.

Orange Grove is an 8 unit project arranged in a 4 in front, 4 in back format.  Architectural style has become an issue with the small lot subdivision project type. It is developing its features as a new typology over time as more and more of them are built.  This new typology is being inserted into neighborhoods of varying styles and ages. The Orange Grove project is located within an area which has within it a large number of apartments built during the 1960s in a ding-bat style.  This adjacency is at times, valuable when we propose modern styled buildings as they share some common ancestry.
