Malibu Cove Colony is an exquisite small private street/ cul de sac that runs along the beach in Malibu.  All homes are on the sand.  We’ve had the pleasure of working on two of the homes on this street.  As all lots have been developed, all of these projects are remodels of one sort or another.  This remodel was a complete re-visioning of the original Cape Cod style home into a more modern styled home with a clearly modern interior aesthetic.  The center piece of the home is a new steel and glass circular stairway which climbs from the ground floor entry level to the third floor loft. The architectural goal of the remodel was to retain the residential feel and flavor of a pitched roof, open beam home, and merge it with the open expansiveness of a clearly modern home using large expanses of disappearing glass walls, and a reduced but warm materials pallet.
