Very steep sites generally are not considered amenable to a small lot development. With the Hyperion project, we found that we could design a 6-unit project successfully, by providing a common access driveway parallel to the street. Each unit steps up the hill and is provided with a landscaped rear yard midway between the top floor and the roof deck.
